Slightly Spicy Wild Rice Soup

Rich, hearty and fun to make.
|2 cups wild rice, (cooked)|
|1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper|
|1 teaspoon chili powder|
|2 cups corn kernels|
|1/2 cup green chile peppers|
|1/2 teaspoon dried oregano|
|1/3 cup onion, (diced)|
|3 cans chicken broth|
|1 tablespoon cilantro, (chopped)|
|1/3 cup carrots, (diced)|
|1 teaspoon ground cumin|
- Bring a large saucepan to medium heat. Once hot, add corn kernels, onion, 1 can of chicken broth and carrots. Reduce heat and let ingredients simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour in remaining chicken broth to sauce pan. Add wild rice, cayenne pepper, chili powder, oregano and cumin. Stir together and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spoon soup into serving bowls and top with cilantro.
